Dubai: Financial Hub in the Middle East including Financial Markets and Islamic Finance

Dubai is one of the most important commercial and financial hubs in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). It provides a highly sophisticated infrastructure for banking, capital markets, asset management, private wealth management, and Islamic finance. Additionally, it is a trading hub and a place to do business since more than 100 years. Many free-trade zones have been founded in Dubai, and a host of multi-national companies (MNCs) have set up their regional headquarters in the city.

Start Up & Entrepreneurship in Dubai

Glamorised as an alternative career choice, entrepreneurs like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Richard Branson are changing the world. As part of this course, you will look at cases of success and failure of entrepreneurs in Dubai to understand which competencies, skills and tools are necessary to evaluate, create and guide a business in Dubai and the Arab world.

Hospitality & Real Estate Management

Dubai is also internationally well known for its highest level of hospitality management. Many 5-star hotels are located here and Jumeirah, the world’s famous luxury hotel chain is headquartered in the city. The seven star hotel Burj Al Arab is also located in Dubai. Logistics, Trade & Aviation Management

Logistics is the management of the flow of goods, information and other resources between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet the requirements of customers. With Emirates Airlines and its newly expanded international airport, Dubai is already the most important logistics hub in the Middle East. To maintain this position, Dubai has developed the world’s largest free trade zone including Jebel Ali Port and the construction site of the world’s biggest airport, Dubai World Central, with a future yearly capacity of 160 million passengers.

Doing Business in the Gulf & Introduction to Free Trade Zones including Taxation

Dubai has a unique trading advantage with the development of Free Trade Zones such as Jebel Ali, and Dubai International Financial Centre. During the programme you will have the opportunity to experience the Dubai markets and understand what the strengths and challenges are of trading in the region and where opportunities lie for entrepreneurs.

Intercultural Communication & Management

When doing business in the Middle East, it is wise to bear in mind the great diversity within the region. However, a common religion, language, and culture make the highlighting of general traits and features for the region valid. Intercultural communication is a fantastic transferable skill within the professional workplace, particularly for international travellers.

Arabic Language Introduction
